We’re gearing up to Celebrate Spring with DIY parties here at Initial Outfitters! We’re always looking for ways to personalize your home, and hoop wreaths featuring a personalized wooden cutout do just that! These hoop wreaths are all over Pinterest, so we’re pretty excited to show you what we’ve put together and give you the steps to make your own.
Let us know your thoughts!
All you will need to make a beautiful hoop wreath of your own is: 1- A hoop– this can be a hula hoop or embroidery hoop. If you’re going the hula hoop route like we did here, we recommend purchasing the smallest hula hoop you can find. If you like the idea of the embroidery hoop, we found them at Hobby Lobby. They have various sizes, but we went with the 23″ option. You can purchase these online here- http://www.hobbylobby.com/Yarn-Needle-Art/Cross-Stitch/Hoops-Frames-Tools/23%22-Quilter’s-Wooden-Embroidery-Hoop/p/34766 Steps & pictures of a hoop wreath using the wooden embroidery hoop to come. Stay tuned! 2- Flowers– we purchased these at Dollar Tree! We were super impressed with their selection and prices. 3- Floral wire to arrange and attach the flowers to the hoop. We picked this up at Dollar Tree as well. 4– String or ribbon to hang your wooden cutout, and ribbon to cover the hula hoop. We used twine to hang the wooden cutout, and green burlap ribbon to wrap the hula hoop. Again, Dollar Tree! We used two 9 foot rolls of burlap ribbon to cover the hula hoop. 5- A personalized wooden cutout from Initial Outfitters. You can contact us for a Consultant to place an order with if you don’t already have one- http://www.initialoutfitters.com/contact-us/ Step one: Secure the ribbon to the hula hoop with tape or glue. Then, wrap the ribbon around the hoop until it is completely covered. Step two: Gather flowers in a bunch and wrap wire around the stems to secure. Then, attach the flowers to the hoop using floral wire as well. We attached three bunches of flowers to create the spray we wanted: a bunch facing right, a bunch facing left, and then a center bunch to cover the stems (See the picture above). With the center bunch, we had to move around and arrange the actual flower buds once attached until everything was covered. Step three: use twine or your ribbon of choice to attach the personalized wooden cutout to the hoop. Ta-da! You now have a beautiful hoop wreath! It’s that simple. Need ideas for where to hang it?
